About Tech Ascend
Tech Ascend is a mission-driven organisation established to accelerate the deployment of climate and water resilience technologies in real world settings.
We exist to address a persistent gap between innovation and adoption and to ensure that proven but unfamiliar solutions move into real-world use where they can deliver environmental, social and economic benefits.
Tech Ascend addresses the systemic factors that favour business as usual. This includes how risk is structured, how adoption decisions are made, and how performance evidence is generated and translated into implementation across utilities and industry.
Governance
Tech Ascend is a company limited by guarantee, with no shareholders. It is governed by a small board comprising its two founding directors and an independent Chief Financial Officer, who provides clear accountability and financial oversight.
Alongside the board, the Foundation is supported by an advisory board drawn from programme sponsors and representing a deliberately diverse mix of perspectives across utilities, investors and technology integrators. This group provides practical insight and ensures that no single interest can exert undue influence over decision making.
Decisions on whether activities continue or come to an end sit with the board and are guided by predefined success criteria. Where objectives are not being met, the governance framework supports course correction or (where appropriate) the responsible and transparent closure of activity.
We bring together de-risked trials, leadership learning and coordinated action to move proven solutions into real-world use – making best practice common practice in the water sector.
